Are you a minimalist at heart like me? Do you feel that sometimes there is just too much stuff, too many choices, and too little time? All these things leave our children (and us) feeling anxious and overloaded. Payne helps parents reclaim space and freedom through a few simple ideas:
 • Streamline your home environment. Reduce the amount of toys and books—as well as the lights, sounds, and general sensory overload.
• Establish rhythms and rituals that ease daily tensions.
• Schedule a break in the schedule.
• Scale back on media and parental involvement.

When your child seems to deserve affection least, that’s when they need it most.

Just to clarify, this book is not religious in nature. However, the author, Payne, is the director of a Waldorf counseling program in New England, so you can expect this book to be consistent with the principles of Waldorf philosophy. Would this be a book you’re interested in reading?
