Oh my gosh, I am so thankful for these books. They foster kids natural curiosity and provide a framework for complex topics. These are meant to be read with your children so they can ask you all the questions while your palms get sweaty as you try to remain nonchalant and collected. Ha!
I recommend you not read these aloud blind, but to give it a quick once-over first before your special alone time together. That way you can be assured of readiness for the subject matter and also maintain that collected bit I talked about earlier. Although I mostly followed the age recommendations, my youngest sometimes fell below the recommended range. However, since my boys are at a similar level of comprehension, it was better for us to have them both receive the same information. But every family is unique, so you do what works for your situation!
